This Ganesh backflow incense burner is shaped from purple clay, showing the elephant-headed deity seated cross-legged on a rock-form base, with a blue-toned garment against the matte brown clay and a raised multi-hood crown. A ledge at one side holds a backflow cone, and a carved channel lets the smoke spill downward like a small waterfall across the base, while a second hole accepts a standard stick incense. Sized for a desk, altar, or meditation corner, it is offered in four color versions.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Ganesh: In Hindu tradition, Ganesh is the elephant-headed deity traditionally regarded as a symbol of wisdom and intellect and as the one who clears obstacles from new undertakings, and his seated form is among the most familiar images in Hindu devotional art. Here he is rendered in purple clay with raised hands and a calm, seated posture.
Elephant form: Across Hindu and wider Asian art traditions, the elephant has long carried associations of wisdom, memory, and gentle strength, which gives the figure its grounded, steady presence on a shelf or altar.
Waterfall smoke channel: The cascading smoke path is a modern ceramic backflow design feature rather than a traditional symbol; it simply frames the figure with a moving ribbon of smoke when a backflow cone burns.

Why You'll Love This Burner
- The backflow channel turns ordinary cone smoke into a visible waterfall that pools across the base — a distinctive moving display on a desk or altar.
- Two incense positions, one for backflow cones and one for stick incense, make it usable for both effects.
- The matte purple clay body with hand-applied color accents keeps each piece slightly different, and four color versions are listed.
Care Instructions
Let ash cool fully before brushing it out, and keep the unglazed clay dry — avoid washing it with water or exposing it to prolonged moisture, perfume, and harsh chemicals. Burn only in a well-ventilated space, never leave a lit cone unattended, and store the burner dry between uses.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it come with incense?
No. The package lists 1 incense burner without incense, so plan to add your own backflow cones or stick incense separately.
What kind of incense creates the waterfall smoke effect?
Only backflow (cascade) cones will produce the downward smoke flow, because they are shaped to send smoke down through the holder. Standard stick incense fits the upright hole and burns normally without the cascade effect.
Which colors are available?
The listing includes blue, orange, golden, and green versions of the same purple clay figure. Because the pieces are handmade and natural, the color may vary slightly from the photos.
How do I clean clay that can't be washed?
Let the ash cool completely, then brush or tap it out of the cone ledge and pooling channel. Keep the porous clay dry and wipe the outside only with a soft dry cloth; water can stain unglazed purple clay.
Will it fit on a small desk or altar shelf?
The footprint is about 3.98*4.33 in (10.1*11 cm), so it sits comfortably on a nightstand, desk corner, or altar shelf. Give it a level surface so the smoke pools and flows as designed.
