This Tibetan Prayer Wheel is a handheld decorative piece with a turned wooden handle, a cylindrical body engraved with Tibetan mantra characters, and a lotus-bud finial at the crown. Small red and turquoise-tone stones are set into the cylinder, a short chain with a metal disc dangles from the base to help turn the wheel, and three pattern options are listed.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Mantra Engraving: Prayer wheels traditionally carry the six-syllable mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, one of the most widely known recitations in Tibetan Buddhism, traditionally associated with compassion and focus. On this piece the mantra characters are engraved around the rotating cylinder as a design element.
Lotus Finial: Rising clean from muddy water to bloom, the lotus is traditionally regarded as a symbol of purity and quiet emergence; here it shapes the bud-form crown of the wheel.

Why You'll Love This Prayer Wheel
- The cylinder rotates on its axle, and the weighted chain disc lets you turn it with a gentle swing — a kinetic detail on a shelf or desk.
- At 17cm long and 210g it has real presence without taking up much space.
- Gold and darker antique-tone finishes with stone inlays make it an easy gift for lovers of Tibetan-style decor.
Care Instructions
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth; do not wash or expose the piece to moisture.
- Keep away from perfume, cleaners and humidity to protect the plated finish and the wooden handle.
- Set it on a stable surface when displayed and let the chain rest beside it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the wheel actually spin?
Yes. The engraved cylinder turns around the central axle, and the short chain with a metal disc at the base acts as a weight: a gentle wrist motion spins the wheel.
Is this meant to be worn as jewelry?
No — it is a handheld decorative object. The 11.5cm measurement in the details refers to the dangling chain, not a necklace.
Which finish do I receive?
Three pattern options are listed, including gold and darker antique tones with red and turquoise-tone stone accents. Choose from the variant selector when ordering.
How heavy is it in the hand?
About 210g, with a turned wooden handle, so it feels substantial enough to hold and turn comfortably.
