This Closed Eyes Meditating Buddha Statue is a sculpted Buddha head cast in iron powder resin — 15 cm tall, with a dark aged base and warm coppery highlights raised on every contour. The face carries closed, downcast eyes, a small urna dot between the brows, tight spiral curls of hair beneath the crown bump, and long, smooth earlobes. Rust and polished finishes are listed; the rust version shown reads like an antique temple fragment. It is a decorative art piece for a desk, shelf, or altar space — not a wearable item.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Buddha figure: In Buddhist tradition the image of the Buddha has long stood for compassion, stillness, and introspection, and Buddha heads have been among the most copied forms in Buddhist-influenced art for centuries. This piece is presented as a decorative art reference to that tradition, not as an object of veneration.
Meditative features: The design keeps the traditional markers of the meditating face — eyes lowered in quiet composure, the urna dot at the brow, the spiral curls, and the elongated earlobes — so the expression reads the same from across a room as it does up close.
Rust finish: The two-tone rust treatment darkens the recesses and burnishes the raised lines, an aged-bronze look achieved over the 80% iron powder, 20% resin body. The polished version offers the same sculpture with a smoother, brighter surface.

Why You'll Love This Piece
- At 15 cm tall and about 700 g, it has real weight and presence without crowding a shelf or desk.
- The rust patina catches light differently across the face, so the expression shifts as you move past it.
- Its clean, vertical silhouette suits a reading corner, a plant shelf, a meditation space, or a minimalist altar display.
Care Instructions
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth; do not soak or rinse the resin surface.
- Keep it away from water, cleaning sprays, and harsh chemicals, and out of constantly damp rooms.
- Set it on a stable, level surface away from shelf edges; the 700 g body can chip finishes if knocked over.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose the rust or the polished version?
Pick by the look you want on your shelf: the rust version carries the aged two-tone patina seen in the listing — dark recesses with coppery highlights — while the polished version has the same sculpture with a smoother, brighter surface. The rust finish reads antique; the polished finish reads modern.
Is this a full seated statue or a head?
It is a sculpted Buddha head — a single vertical form about 15 cm tall that stands on its own base, sized 15*6*5.1cm. Plan your display around a head sculpture rather than a full seated figure.
Will it damage furniture or leave marks?
The piece is a sealed resin-and-iron-powder composite, not bare metal, so it will not rust onto surfaces under normal dry display. If you are placing it on delicate wood or stone, set it on a small felt pad and keep it away from moisture.
Is each statue exactly like the photo?
Very close, but not identical. The finish is applied by hand, so the balance of dark and burnished tones, and small surface irregularities, vary from piece to piece — part of what makes each one unique.
Where does a piece like this work as a gift?
Its quiet, sculptural look makes it a common gift for housewarmings, study or office desks, and anyone decorating a reading or meditation corner — it needs no batteries, no assembly, and no special display case.
Note: Cultural references describe traditional beliefs and design inspiration only. They are not claims that the product produces any actual effect.
