Tarot

Tarot is a tool for reflection, storytelling and personal insight. AkashicStone’s Tarot collection brings together tarot decks, tarot cards, guidebooks, spread guides and reading accessories. Whether you are new to tarot and asking “what is a tarot reading?”, looking for a classic 78-card deck, or searching for clear tarot card meanings, each item is chosen for print quality, card stock, artwork and ease of use. These are decorative pieces inspired by tradition, not religious artifacts. For decorative purposes only.

Tarot Decks, Cards and Reading Styles

A standard tarot deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana. The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits — Cups, Swords, Wands and Pentacles — each linked to themes such as emotion, thought, action and material life. Readers often study upright and reversed meanings, card combinations and spreads. Popular spreads include single-card pulls, three-card spreads, relationship spreads, year-ahead spreads and yes/no spreads. Many readers also keep a tarot journal, compare daily tarot cards, or use tarot alongside horoscope and astrology study. If you are learning how to read tarot, start with one deck, a clear guidebook and a simple spread rather than memorizing every card at once.

Choosing a Tarot Deck

Deck choice is personal. Consider artwork you connect with, card size, card stock, border style and whether the guidebook explains meanings clearly. Beginner-friendly decks usually include keywords, upright and reversed meanings, and sample spreads. Classic Rider-Waite-Smith-style imagery is widely used in learning resources, while themed and oracle-style decks offer different approaches. Check whether the deck is a full 78-card tarot deck or an oracle deck, and confirm the language of the guidebook. If you plan to read for others, choose a deck that feels comfortable to handle and easy to shuffle.

Using and Caring for Tarot Cards

Tarot is used for reflection and entertainment; readings are not medical, legal or financial advice. Treat the cards with care: keep them dry, store them in a box or pouch, and avoid bending or leaving them in direct sunlight. Clean and shuffle gently, and keep a reading cloth if you read on different surfaces. There is no single “correct” way to cleanse or charge a deck — choose a routine that feels respectful and practical to you.
