This Kurukulla Buddha Copper Statue is a large hand-cast display figure showing Kurukulla in a dynamic dance pose, drawing a bow with the arrow aimed forward. The golden body carries a painted red wrathful face with a raised crown and flowing scarf, the figure is framed by an open aureole of curling flame panels, and it stands on a round lotus-petal base. At 35 cm tall and 2800 g it is a substantial focal piece for a shelf, console table, or altar space.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Kurukulla: In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Kurukulla is a wisdom goddess regarded as an activity form of Tara, traditionally depicted dancing while drawing a flower bow and arrow. In traditional iconography her red, wrathful form is associated with the subjugation of obstacles and the force of focused intention; the imagery is used here as a reference to that artistic tradition.
Dance pose and wrathful countenance: Wrathful figures in Tibetan Buddhist art traditionally express fierce compassion — the energy that cuts through delusion rather than calm gentleness. The bent dancing stance and drawn bow give this statue its sense of captured movement.
Flame aureole: The ring of openwork flame panels behind the figure is a longstanding motif in Buddhist sacred art, used to frame enlightened beings and mark the space around them as consecrated ground within the composition.
Lotus base: The round pedestal is carved as lotus petals. Rising clean from muddy water to bloom, the lotus is traditionally regarded in Buddhist art as a symbol of purity and awakening, and lotus thrones appear beneath nearly all seated and standing deity figures.

Why You'll Love This Statue
The dancing pose with the drawn bow gives the piece a strong sense of motion that static seated figures lack, so it holds attention as a focal point across a room. The combination of golden body, painted red face, and openwork flame backdrop makes the iconography readable even from a distance. At nearly three kilos it sits steadily on a shelf or table without feeling light or hollow.
Care Instructions
Per the product note, the statue should not be wiped. Keep it in a dry spot away from direct sunlight, moisture, and chemicals, and dust it only with gentle air or a very soft brush near the base if needed. Choose a stable, level surface that can support 2800 g, and handle it by the solid base rather than the outstretched arms and bow when moving it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the figure on this statue?
It is Kurukulla, a wisdom goddess from Tibetan Buddhist tradition, shown dancing and drawing a bow with a red wrathful face. The religious imagery is presented as decorative art and cultural reference only; the statue itself is a display object.
How much space does it need on a shelf?
The listing measures it at 35 cm high, 22 cm long, and 9 cm wide, weighing 2800 g. Allow the full 22 cm of depth for the flame aureole and plan for a solid shelf — this is a heavy piece, not a small accent.
Why does the listing say the statue cannot be wiped?
The surface is hand-finished copper with painted details on the face, and wiping can mark or dull that finish. The care advice is to keep it dry, out of sunlight and moisture, and to avoid rubbing the surface; handle cleaning cautiously.
Will my statue look exactly like the photo?
Each piece is hand-cast and hand-finished, so small irregularities in the metalwork and slight differences in the painted colour are normal and are noted in the listing. The overall design — dance pose, bow, flame aureole, lotus base — matches the photos.
Note: Cultural references describe traditional beliefs and design inspiration only. They are not claims that the product produces any actual effect.
