This Green Sandstone Fu Character Incense Burner is a small stick-incense holder carved to look like a round treasure bowl overflowing with boat-shaped gold ingots, with the lid piled high and a metal fitting at the top center holding a single incense stick. The pot's body carries a raised circular medallion carved with the Chinese Fu character framed by scrolling relief, all in matte, finely granular sage-green sandstone. It suits a desk, tea table, or shelf as a decorative burner.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
- Fu Character: The Fu (fortune) character is traditionally displayed during the Spring Festival — often hung upside down as a wordplay on "fortune has arrived" — and is long regarded in Chinese custom as a character of good fortune and celebration. Here it is carved in relief inside a round medallion on the front of the pot.
- Gold Ingots (Yuanbao): The boat-shaped yuanbao was an early form of currency in China and is a familiar motif of wealth in traditional folk art; a bowl heaped with ingots is a classic still-life image of abundance. This burner borrows that imagery directly, with the lid sculpted as a mound of ingots.
- Treasure-Bowl Vessel: The rounded pot form recalls the traditional "treasure basin" vessel motif in Chinese decorative art, paired here with a carved scroll band around the rim.

Why You'll Love This Incense Burner
- Readable at a glance: The piled ingots and the centered Fu medallion give the piece a clear, festive identity rather than a generic pot silhouette.
- Small footprint: At roughly 5 cm square and under 5 cm tall, it fits a nightstand, workstation, or tea tray without crowding it.
- Natural stone, handmade: Carved from green sandstone, each burner shows its own slight variations in tone, speckle, and surface texture.
Care Instructions
- Let ash cool fully, then brush it out with a dry, soft brush; do not soak the stone.
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth and keep the burner away from standing water and harsh cleaners.
- Use only standard stick incense in the top fitting, and never leave a burning stick unattended.
- Place on a stable, heat-safe surface away from paper and fabric.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Fu version and the Bao Fa version?
Both use the same ingot-lidded treasure-bowl design in green sandstone; they differ in the carved character face and in size — the Fu Fortune version measures 5.3*5.3*4.5cm and the Bao Fa version 5.7*5.7*4.6. Choose whichever character design you prefer on your desk.
Does it come with incense sticks?
No — the package includes the sandstone burner only, without incense. Regular stick incense fits the metal holder set at the top of the ingot lid.
Is the surface smooth or rough?
It is a matte, finely granular sandstone finish — soft-textured like carved stone, not glossy or glazed. Because each piece is handmade from natural stone, small irregularities and slight color variation from photos are normal.
Is this suitable as a gift for a housewarming or Lunar New Year?
Yes, it is a natural fit for those occasions — the Fu character and ingot imagery are traditional festive symbols in Chinese culture, and the compact size makes it easy to gift for a desk or tea corner. It is a decorative incense burner, so the symbolism is in the design, not in any promised effect.
Note: The above data is manual measurement, there may be a slight deviation. These products are HANDMADE and NATURAL, therefore they may present some irregularities, and due to lighting effects, the color may slightly vary from the one shown in the picture.
Note: Cultural references describe traditional beliefs and design inspiration only. They are not claims that the product produces any actual effect.
