This Peach Wood Bagua Mirror is an octagonal plate of light, straight-grained peach wood with a round mirror set at its center, ringed by eight raised trigram marks painted in alternating white, green, black, red and gold, each paired with a small carved Chinese character. A metal loop at the top lets it hang on a wall above a doorway, in an entry hall, or in a study, and the listing offers convex or concave mirror surfaces in two diameters.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Bagua (Eight Trigrams): the bagua, meaning "eight symbols," comes from the Yijing and is composed of eight trigrams of stacked solid and broken lines used in Feng Shui and classical Chinese philosophy, where each trigram traditionally corresponds to a direction and a natural force such as heaven, earth, water, fire, wind, thunder, mountain and lake. On this mirror the eight trigrams are carved in relief around the center, painted in different colors and labelled with their Chinese characters.
Bagua mirror form: the round mirror set at the heart of the trigram ring is the classic shape of the bagua mirror, a traditional Feng Shui object long hung facing outward near entryways. Here the mirror surface is offered either convex, bulging outward, or concave, curving inward.
Peach wood: the octagonal frame is cut from peach wood, a light, warm-toned timber with a straight, clearly visible grain; the natural figure of the wood differs from piece to piece.

Why You'll Love This Mirror
- Instantly recognizable design: the colored trigram ring and carved characters read clearly from across a room, so the piece works as wall art even before its traditional meaning is known.
- Options that matter: two diameters and a choice of convex or concave mirror let you match the scale and surface to your space.
- Light and ready to hang: at 65g or 200g with a built-in metal loop, it goes up on a simple hook or nail, and the natural peach wood grain makes each piece unique.
Care Instructions
Dust the wood with a soft, dry cloth and keep the mirror away from prolonged moisture, bathroom humidity and harsh cleaners, which can dull the painted trigrams and raise the wood grain. Clean the mirror surface with a gentle glass cleaner applied to a cloth, not sprayed directly at the wooden frame, and hang it on a stable hook away from direct heat and sunlight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which size should I choose?
The listing gives diameters of 10cm and 15.5cm, thicknesses of 1cm and 1.5cm, and weights of 65g and 200g; check the option you select for the exact combination. The larger mirror keeps the trigrams and characters legible from farther away, while the smaller one suits compact wall spots and shelves.
What is the difference between the convex and concave versions?
Only the mirror surface shape changes. The convex version bulges outward and reflects a wide, shrunken view; the concave version curves inward and magnifies what it reflects. The octagonal peach wood frame, painted trigram ring and hanging loop are the same on both.
How do I hang it on the wall?
A small metal loop is fixed at the top of the frame. Use a hook or nail rated for at least 200g, hang the mirror level, and keep it away from damp exterior walls and above-sink splash zones to protect the wood.
Will the colors and grain match the photo exactly?
Not perfectly. Each mirror is handmade from natural peach wood, so grain patterns differ, and the painted trigrams and overall tone may vary slightly from the pictures due to lighting and screen differences.
