This Kwan Yin Avalokitesvara Brass and Copper Statue is a hand-cast display figure showing Kwan Yin seated in full lotus posture on a two-tier lotus throne. The polished gold-toned metal catches the light across the flowing carved robe, the jeweled chest band, and the draped hood, while one hand is raised in a classic gesture and the other rests at the lap holding a small vase. Offered in two sizes, it is made for a quiet corner of a living room, study, shelf, or desk.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Kwan Yin / Avalokitesvara: In Mahayana Buddhist tradition, Avalokitesvara is the bodhisattva universally regarded as the embodiment of compassion, and is venerated in East Asia as Kwan Yin (Guanyin). Figures in this tradition are traditionally associated with compassion, serenity, and quiet reflection; the statue presents that classic imagery as decorative art.
Raised hand and vase: In traditional Kwan Yin iconography the figure is shown with one hand raised in a gesture of reassurance and holding a pure-water vase as her characteristic attribute; both elements identify the bodhisattva in Buddhist art. Here the raised palm and the vase at the lap are cast in the same polished metal as the rest of the figure.
Lotus throne: The double-tier base is modeled as open lotus petals. Rising clean from muddy water to bloom, the lotus is traditionally regarded in Buddhist art as a symbol of purity and quiet emergence, and a lotus seat is the standard throne for enlightened figures.

Why You'll Love This Statue
The serene facial expression and symmetrical seated pose give the piece a calm, grounding presence that works as a focal point without competing with the room. Deep carving in the robe hems, hood, and lotus petals keeps the detail readable from several metres away. At 5 kg or 7.5 kg, both sizes sit solidly on a shelf or altar table and stay put.
Care Instructions
Keep the statue in a dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and harsh chemicals. Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth, taking care around the raised fingers and the vase, and wipe hands clean before handling so skin oils do not dull the polished surface. Choose a stable, level surface that supports the full weight — 5000 g or 7500 g depending on size.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who does this statue depict?
It depicts Kwan Yin, the East Asian form of Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva traditionally regarded in Mahayana Buddhism as the embodiment of compassion. She is shown seated on a lotus throne with a raised-hand gesture and a vase, both classic attributes of her imagery. The statue is a decorative art reference, not a promise of any effect.
Which of the two sizes should I pick?
The smaller figure measures 23*20*40cm and weighs about 5000g; the larger one measures 26*23*45cm and weighs about 7500g. If the display spot is a desk or a narrow shelf, the 40 cm size reads well; for a floor-adjacent console or a dedicated altar table, the 45 cm size carries more visual weight.
Is the finish solid gold-toned metal?
The listing specifies the material as Copper / Brass with a handcrafted, polished gold-tone appearance. Because each piece is hand-finished, slight variation in sheen and small surface irregularities are normal, as noted in the listing.
Where is the best place to display it at home?
Owners typically place Kwan Yin figures in a calm, respectful spot — a study shelf, a living-room corner, or a dedicated altar table — away from busy traffic, direct sunlight, and damp. Pick a stable surface and allow the full footprint (up to 26*23cm) plus a little clearance around the raised hand.
Note: Cultural references describe traditional beliefs and design inspiration only. They are not claims that the product produces any actual effect.
