This Liuli Crystal Pixiu Figurine is a solid glass sculpture of the mythical pixiu seated in a crouching pose, head raised and mouth open, with a carved winged panel running along its back and one forepaw stretched forward. The translucent liuli glass shifts from deep blue at the haunches to violet across the chest and face, and light passes through the body so the carved muscle and feather lines stay readable from a distance. It is made for display on a desk, shelf, or entryway table, and is listed in blue or yellow, singly or as a male-and-female pair.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Pixiu: The pixiu is a mythical creature and auspicious motif in Chinese folklore. In traditional folk belief its image is associated with wealth, safeguarding the home, peace, and good fortune, and it has long been used as a decorative figure in shops and living spaces — this piece continues that display tradition in carved glass.
Carved pose: The crouching stance with outstretched paw, open mouth, and raised horn-like crest follows the classic pixiu figure seen in Chinese decorative art, reproduced here as a sculpted glass form rather than metal or stone.
Liuli glass: Liuli is a Chinese tradition of cast colored glasswork. The translucent blue-to-violet gradient lets light move through the sculpture, so the piece changes appearance with the room's daylight and lamp light.

Why You'll Love This Figurine
- At about 12.84 oz(364 g) of solid glass, it sits stable on a desk or shelf without feeling like a hollow trinket.
- The blue-to-violet gradient catches light through the body, making it a visually alive accent on a shelf or entryway table.
- A matching male-and-female pair option suits traditional display setups where two figures are placed side by side.
Care Instructions
- Dust with a soft dry cloth; for fingerprints, wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.
- Keep away from harsh cleaners, perfumes, and prolonged moisture, which can dull the glass surface.
- Place on a stable, flat surface away from edges where it could be knocked over.
- Keep out of reach of pets and young children given its weight and glass material.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the single and the pair option?
The single option ships one pixiu figurine; the pair option ships two figures in the traditional male and female poses, meant to be displayed together. The listing states both under Package Included.
Is the blue version exactly the color in the picture?
The blue version is a translucent blue-to-violet liuli glass like the one shown. Because each piece is handmade cast glass and lighting affects how the color reads, the exact gradient can vary slightly from piece to piece.
Will it stay put on a desk or shelf?
Yes. Each figure weighs about 12.84 oz(364 g) and measures roughly 3.35*1.97*2.95 in(8.5*5*7.5 cm), with a broad seated base, so it sits stable on a flat surface without a stand.
Where do people usually display it?
The listing describes it as a decoration for a shelf, desk, or entryway. Any spot where light can pass through the glass will show off the carved detail best.
