Mini Ivory Fruit Buddha and Bodhisattva Figurine on Lotus for Desk Display is a hand-carved ornament in a warm, pale ivory-fruit material, shown as a childlike seated Buddha with hands pressed together on a small lotus pedestal beside an open carved lotus bowl. Seven figure options are offered — Tathagata with lotus, Tathagata, Manjusri, Samantabhadra, Avalokitesvara, Gautama Buddha, and a two-piece Manjusri and Samantabhadra set — each sized for a desk, shelf, or quiet corner.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Buddha figure: in Buddhist tradition the figure of the Buddha has long stood for compassion, tranquility, and introspection; the gentle childlike form with hands pressed together used here is a modern decorative take on that imagery. Lotus: rising clean from muddy water to bloom, the lotus is traditionally regarded in Buddhist and wider South Asian traditions as a symbol of purity and quiet emergence, which is why the figures are shown seated on or beside carved open blossoms. Manjusri and Samantabhadra: both are bodhisattva figures from Buddhist tradition, long familiar subjects of East Asian devotional art.

Why You'll Love This Figurine
- Hand carving in ivory fruit gives each piece a soft, warm tone and a matte, detail-friendly surface.
- Seven figure options make it easy to match the piece to the space — a single seated Buddha or a paired Manjusri and Samantabhadra set.
- The compact scale works on a desk, bookshelf, or entryway table without dominating it.
Care Instructions
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth; do not wash the carving or soak it.
- Keep it away from water, sweat, perfume, and harsh chemicals.
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and damp shelves, which can dull a natural carved material.
- Set it on a stable, dry surface when displayed, and store it dry when not on show.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the seven figure options and how do I choose?
They are Tathagata with lotus, Tathagata, Manjusri, Samantabhadra, Avalokitesvara, Gautama Buddha, and a two-piece Manjusri and Samantabhadra set. Pick by subject if one figure speaks to you, or by size — the Avalokitesvara option is the tallest at 13*7.5*6.5cm, while the Tathagata pieces are the smallest at 8.5*4.5*4.5cm.
Are the figure and the lotus one piece or two?
Two separate pieces. The Tathagata & Lotus option lists the figure (8.5*4.5*4.5cm) and the lotus (7*4.1cm) as separate measurements, and they are displayed together with the figure set into or beside the carved blossom.
What does ivory fruit look like in person?
It is a pale, warm cream-toned natural carving material with a smooth matte finish that holds fine detail, such as the spiral curls and lotus petals visible on this piece. Because it is natural and handmade, tone and small surface details vary slightly between pieces.
Will it fit on a small desk or shelf?
Yes. Every option stays under 13cm tall and most are around 5cm wide, so the piece reads as a small accent rather than a large statue. Compare the exact size listed for your chosen option with your shelf depth.
Is this a good gift?
It works well as a gift for people who enjoy quiet desk decor, tea culture, or Buddhist-influenced art, and the seven options let you match the figure to the recipient. The hand-carved natural material means each piece varies slightly.
