This Cinnabar Rotatable Yin Yang & Mantra Pendant Necklace is a 30 mm disc of deep red cinnabar whose outer ring is covered in fine carved cloud scrolls. At its center sits a disc that turns freely within the frame, its two-tone ground swirling like a yin-yang figure, with gold Tibetan-script mantra characters set around a blue turquoise bead. The pendant hangs from a dark braided cord finished with a gold spacer and a cinnabar bead.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Yin-yang: The yin-yang is a classical concept in Chinese philosophy, expressing the interdependence and balance of opposites. Here it appears as the turning disc at the heart of the pendant, its dark and gold halves swirling around the stone.
Om Mani Padme Hum: The six syllables, one of the most widely known recitations in Tibetan Buddhism, are traditionally associated with compassion, focus and wisdom. On this piece they are embossed in gold Tibetan script around the turquoise center.
Cloud scrolls: The carved outer ring is filled with stylized cloud motifs, a longstanding decorative pattern in Chinese carving that frames the turning disc.

Why You'll Love This Necklace
- The inner disc actually rotates, adding a moving detail most static pendants do not have.
- Hand-carved cloud scrolls and gold script give the 30 mm pendant depth that reads well up close.
- The deep red stone with a blue turquoise center makes a distinctive gift for anyone drawn to Tibetan and Chinese motifs.
Care Instructions
- Remove the necklace before bathing, swimming, sleeping or exercise; prolonged moisture can dull the cinnabar and stiffen the rope.
- Keep it away from perfume, lotion and harsh chemicals.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store it dry and separately; let the turning disc move freely rather than pressing grit into it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the center of the pendant really spin?
Yes. The inner disc with the gold script and turquoise bead is set to rotate freely inside the carved cinnabar frame, the same turning-disc form as a hand-held prayer wheel.
What will I see up close on the pendant?
The outer ring is covered in finely carved cloud scrolls; the turning disc carries six gold Tibetan-script mantra characters arranged around a smooth blue turquoise cabochon at the center.
How long is the cord, and is it adjustable?
The listing gives a fixed length of 45 cm, which sits at or just below the collarbone on most wearers. It is a manual measurement, so a slight deviation is possible.
Does the turquoise vary from piece to piece?
Slightly. The center is a natural turquoise stone, and tone and matrix pattern differ a little between pieces; because the pendant is also hand-carved, scroll depth and color can vary as well.
Is this necklace suitable for men and women?
The listing marks it unisex. The 30 mm pendant is substantial without being oversized, and the dark braided cord keeps the look neutral over simple necklines.
