The Blue Crescent Moon Glazed Ceramic Backflow Incense Burner and Candle Holder is a tabletop decorative piece formed as a glossy crescent moon in turquoise glaze, with deep brown tones pooling along the carved edges and a broad round foot in matte brown. A backflow incense cone rests on the upper tip of the crescent, and the smoke it produces sinks through a stepped channel carved down the moon's inner face, spilling over each ledge and settling around the base like a slow waterfall. A small cup-shaped candle holder in matching glaze nestles in the crescent's curve, making the piece work as an incense burner, a candle stand, or a shelf ornament on its own.
Backflow Smoke & Candle Use
The stepped inner channel is what creates the cascading effect: with a backflow cone placed on the top opening, the smoke is heavier than air and flows downward through the steps instead of rising. A small angled opening near the base can also hold a stick incense so its smoke trails along the same channel. Set the burner on a stable, heat-resistant surface in a draft-free spot — moving air scatters the cascade — and keep the candle cup clear of anything flammable while a candle is lit.

Why You'll Love This Piece
The crescent form with its layered glaze reads as a sculptural object even when nothing is burning, so it earns its place on a shelf, altar table, or tea desk between sessions. At about 332.5 g on a wide circular foot, it is heavy and stable enough to hold a lit candle securely, and the 5.8-inch height gives the smoke cascade room to flow visibly. It is an easy gift for anyone who already enjoys incense or candlelit corners.
Care Instructions
Let the burner cool completely before handling it after use. Empty ash from the base and cone opening with a soft brush or dry cloth, and wipe the glazed surface with a slightly damp cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, which scratch the glaze. Keep the piece away from sinks and prolonged moisture, and never leave a burning candle or incense unattended or within reach of children and pets.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is incense or a candle included in the package?
No. The package contains the ceramic burner only — backflow cones, stick incense, and candles are sold separately, as shown in styling photos.
What kind of incense makes the waterfall smoke effect work?
The cascade requires backflow incense cones, which produce smoke that sinks instead of rising. Place a lit cone on the opening at the top of the crescent and let it flow down the stepped channel; ordinary stick or bowl incense will not create the same waterfall effect, though the base opening can still hold a stick incense.
What size candle fits the holder?
The candle cup's internal caliber is about 1 x 1 in (2.6 x 2.6 cm), so it suits small cup candles up to that width. Standard tealights (about 3.8 cm across) and pillar candles will not fit, so check your candle's diameter before pairing.
Why does my smoke drift sideways instead of cascading?
Backflow smoke is easily scattered by air movement. Use the burner away from fans, open windows, and air conditioning flow, and make sure the cone is fully lit and seated squarely over the top opening; a draft-free setting is the single biggest factor in a clean cascade.
Is the piece stable enough to use while burning?
Yes — it weighs about 11.73 oz (332.5 g) and stands on a broad round foot, which keeps the crescent upright during normal use. As with any ceramic candle holder, place it on a level, heat-resistant surface and avoid moving it while a candle or cone is lit.
