This Ceramic Backflow Incense Burner is a glossy, dark-glazed ceramic piece molded as a stack of curling lotus leaves. A backflow cone rests in the small leaf cup at the top, its smoke sinks along the leaf folds, and a wide leaf dish at the base gathers the flow like still water; a side hole also takes a regular incense stick. The set arrives with a lotus leaf piece, a villus pad, and free incense cones. It is sized for a tea table, nightstand, shelf, or desk.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Lotus leaf: Rising clean from muddy water to bloom, the lotus has traditionally been regarded as a symbol of purity and quiet emergence in Buddhist and South Asian traditions, and lotus leaves and blossoms are a longstanding decorative motif in Buddhist-influenced art. Here that motif carries the whole design: the leaves form both the dripping path for the smoke and the pooling dish below, so the burning cone sits above the leaves like a bud over a pond.

Why You'll Love This Lotus Backflow Incense Burner
- The backflow channels turn each cone into a slow, visible cascade that pools in the leaf dish, so the effect is part of the sculpture even between burns.
- Two ways to burn: the top seat takes backflow cones, and the side hole holds a standard incense stick.
- The compact 3.4*3.4 in footprint fits crowded tea tables and desks, and the glossy glaze is easy to wipe clean.
- Free incense cones are included, so it is ready to use straight out of the box.
Care Instructions
- Let the cone and burner cool fully before moving or handling.
- Tip out cooled ash and wipe the glazed leaves with a soft, dry cloth; avoid soaking the piece.
- Keep perfume, aerosols, and harsh cleaners away from the glaze.
- Use it on the included villus pad or another soft, level surface, and keep the burner out of drafts so the smoke keeps flowing downward.
- Store dry and separate from harder objects; ceramic can chip if knocked or dropped.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly comes in the package?
The listing states the package as 1*Incense Burner, Lotus Leaf, Villus pad, and the description notes that free incense cones are included. The lotus leaf is the separate leaf element of the set, and the villus pad is the soft base pad the burner rests on.
Do regular incense cones work, or do I need special ones?
The waterfall effect needs backflow (down-flow) cones, which have a hole through the base so smoke exits downward into the channels. Ordinary solid cones will burn, but the smoke will rise rather than cascade. The side hole accepts standard incense sticks if you prefer them.
Why does the smoke stop pooling and start drifting?
Backflow smoke sinks because it is cooler and heavier than room air, so drafts break the effect first. Move the burner away from fans, open windows, and air-conditioning flow, and make sure the cone sits squarely over the top seat.
Will the glossy glaze stain from resin or ash?
The dark glazed surface wipes clean easily once the burner has cooled; a soft dry cloth is enough for routine ash. Clean resin buildup sooner rather than later so it does not dull the leaf folds.
