This Sakyamuni Buddha Liuli Glass Statue is cast in translucent amber liuli glass, showing the Buddha seated cross-legged on a carved lotus throne, right hand raised, left hand resting in the lap, with flowing robe folds molded down the shoulders and legs. Standing about 20.5 cm tall and weighing roughly 3.2 kg of solid glass, it is made for quiet display — on a home altar, a meditation corner, a study shelf, or a reception table.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Sakyamuni Buddha: In Buddhist tradition the figure of the Buddha is traditionally regarded as a symbol of compassion, serenity, and introspection. This statue follows that image tradition: seated meditation posture, spiral curls over the crown, elongated earlobes, and a calm half-closed gaze.
Lotus Throne: The lotus rises clean from muddy water to bloom on the surface, and in Buddhist and South Asian traditions it has long been regarded as a symbol of purity and quiet emergence. Here it appears as the layered petal pedestal the figure is seated upon.
Wan (卍) Mark: The wan is an ancient auspicious emblem in Indian religious traditions and has been used on Buddha images for millennia; on this piece it is cast into the chest below the collar.
Liuli Glass: The statue is cast in liuli-style glass with a warm amber-to-orange translucency — when daylight passes through it, the lower body and petals glow, while in shadow the piece reads as a deeper honey tone.

Why You'll Love This Statue
The translucent glass gives the piece a living quality: its tone shifts from glowing amber in light to deep honey in shadow, so it reads differently across the day. At 3200 g with a wide lotus base, it sits stable and deliberate on a shelf or altar rather than looking fragile. The molded robe folds, raised hand, and chest mark keep the iconography clearly readable, making it a natural anchor for an altar corner or a contemplative gift.
Care Instructions
Dust with a soft dry cloth; for fingerprints, wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid alcohol, ammonia, and abrasive cleaners, which can dull the glass surface. Keep the statue away from direct heat and strong prolonged sunlight, and lift it by the base rather than the raised hand when moving it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this meant for a religious altar or general decor?
Either. It is sized and posed appropriately for a home altar or shrine corner, and it works equally well as a decorative art reference on a shelf, desk, or meditation space.
How big and heavy is it in person?
It measures 13.5 x 13.5 x 20.5 cm (about 5.31 x 5.31 x 8.07 inches) and weighs roughly 3200 g net, so it is a substantial solid-glass piece, not a light ornament. Check your shelf depth against the 13.5 cm base before placing it.
Why does my photo of it look a different color?
That is expected with translucent amber glass: the tone shifts with whatever light passes through it, from bright orange in daylight to deep honey in shadow, and screen display can vary too.
Are there bubbles or variations inside the glass?
Possibly. The statue is hand-cast, and small bubbles, tone differences, or slight irregularities can appear in the glass — these are normal marks of the material and process, not defects.
How do I clean it safely?
Dust with a soft dry cloth, and remove fingerprints with a barely damp cloth followed by immediate drying. Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaners, and always lift by the wide base.
