This Liuli Crystal Mountain Incense Burner pairs a carved, iridescent glass lid shaped as a range of peaks with a bronze pedestal base. Place a lit incense cone inside the bowl, set the mountain lid on top, and the smoke drifts out through the carved openings and the peak. The two pieces lift apart for use, and the burner ships without incense.
Cultural Symbolism & Artistic Design
Mountain-form burner: Burners shaped as layered mountains follow the classic Chinese boshanlu form, made since the Han dynasty, whose peaks were traditionally linked to the legendary island-mountains of the immortals in Chinese lore. As smoke rises through the carved ridges it is designed to read like clouds drifting around the summits — here the mountain is rendered in shimmering liuli glass instead of the traditional bronze.
Iridescent glass: The liuli lid shifts between blue, green, amber and violet as the light changes, so the same piece looks different at different hours of the day.

Why You'll Love This Burner
- The carved mountain is a genuine display object even when unlit, with the iridescent glass catching light across its ridges.
- At 630 g on a 7.4 cm base, it stands steady on a table during use rather than feeling top-heavy.
- The lid lifts clean off, so seating a cone and emptying ash takes seconds — and it makes a distinctive gift for anyone who burns incense.
Care Instructions
- Let the burner cool fully before handling or moving it after use, and always burn on a stable, heat-safe surface.
- Wipe the glass lid and bronze base with a soft dry cloth; keep harsh cleaners and chemicals away from both.
- Empty ash only when completely cold, and keep the piece out of standing moisture in storage.
- Uncoated bronze slowly deepens in tone with age; that is normal for the material.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it come with incense?
No. The package is the burner only — the listing states 1 × Incense Burner (Without Incense). It is designed to hold a standard incense cone placed in the bronze bowl.
How big and heavy is it on a table?
The listing measures it at 8.5*13.5cm overall with a 7.4cm base diameter (the liuli bottom diameter is 7.1cm) and a weight of 630g, so it reads as a solid, mid-size tabletop piece rather than a small trinket.
Is the glass lid safe to use over a burning cone?
The cone burns in the bronze bowl below the lid, and the carved openings channel the smoke upward. Use standard cones as directed, never leave a burning burner unattended, and let everything cool before touching the lid.
Why do the colors look different from my screen?
The lid is handmade iridescent glass, so small irregularities are expected, and the shifting colors depend heavily on the light angle — photos can only capture one moment of it.
Can I use it without burning incense?
Yes. The item type is listed as Decoration, Ornament, Incense Burner, and the mountain lid on its bronze pedestal works as a stand-alone display object on a desk or shelf.
